This Wordpress plugin will add the ability to use posts as some sort of gallery, instead of using complex gallery plugins. Keep it simple with (custom-)post-types

Summary
The files above are both an example file and the plugin (version 0.1a). The plugin is fully functional, but the example file should be checked before using it, because this is a very HAPPY HACKER version, which will be improved soon.
Currently, all effects are made with CSS3, so do not expect highly functional effects when using a browser, which is not supporting CSS3. This will be fixed in upcoming releases, but for now I do not see this as a major problem. There are, I am sure, slightly performance problems when administrating a post on an older machine, but this will be fixed in further releases as well.

Adding the ability to add categories to your media uploads, will be a great feature, because you do not have to look through all your images to find the newer ones. The UI will be improved in combination with that, so no performance will be wasted. Basically all three upcoming features are sticked together.
